AMINA Bank AG has achieved a significant milestone with its Austrian subsidiary obtaining a Crypto-Asset Service Provider (CASP) license under Europe's Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) framework. This authorization, granted by Austria's Financial Market Authority, positions AMINA as the first crypto banking group to secure such approval, enabling rapid expansion across the EU's 27 member states.

The newly established entity, AMINA (Austria) AG, will offer regulated services including crypto trading, custody, portfolio management, and staking, primarily targeting professional investors such as family offices, corporates, and financial institutions. The subsidiary has already been notified in 13 European countries, with plans to expand into over 30 markets.

"Together with our licenses in Switzerland, Hong Kong, and Abu Dhabi, this milestone enables us to offer clients global and market-leading service through operations built for scale, security, and long-term success," said Franz Bergmueller, CEO of AMINA Bank.

MiCA, which took effect in December 2024, establishes standardized licensing requirements for crypto service providers across the EU, aiming to enhance regulatory clarity and investor protection in digital asset markets.
